| Help jumpstart a small business revolution…  I am proud to announce that we have opened the doors to something that we've been working on for over a year: The Marketplace by Markdown.com.
The Marketplace is a collection of world-class small businesses that have gone through a rigorous screening process to prove that they not only have quality products, but quality people. (It wouldn't be far-fetched to say that it's easier to get into Harvard or Yale than it is to be accepted into The Marketplace.)  The owners of our Marketplace shops are not consumed by profits, they're consumed by passion, integrity, hard work, and their families. Their amazing stories (which you can read right on their shop pages) talk about their struggles, their values and how they support their communities. I dare you to not get goose bumps as you read how these incredible people are working so hard to make their dreams a reality.
The Marketplace will be growing rapidly in the weeks and months to come as we continue to identify more small businesses that meet our very high standards. In the meantime, I hope you'll take a few minutes to visit and get acquainted with our shops and their owners. I believe that together we can show Washington that the answers to our biggest problems can be found in the smallest of places.  |
