#4 SOLUTIONS: Saving America one town at a time

Get the junk out of your life

One of the driving factors motivating Glenn Beck in his new ventures comes from something fans kept telling him over and over whenever he'd go out on the road and interact with the audience at book signings, live shows, events and speeches. They kept telling him: 'Glenn, we know what the problem is! What do we DO about it?' People were clearly indicating that they were sick and tired of hearing about all the problems and just leaving it at that. They wanted concrete steps they could take to help get America back on track. The solution, according to Glenn, is many things but can be simplified in this way: fix yourself and then start helping others. Turn to God, get the junk out of your life, and in turn that will equip you to start preparing and educating and helping others, rendering big government progressivism useless. The first part of that process was addressed in Glenn's book The 7: Seven Wonders that will Change your Life. Many people were influenced by this book and their lives changed for the better - check out one caller who called in a year ago on drugs and contemplating suicide. He 'happened' to hear Glenn's show talking about The 7 -- how does the man sound a year later? LISTEN.

One town at a time

Once the junk is out of your life you can get on with the business of helping others. And before you know it entire towns can turn themselves around without everyone being reliant on the federal government to bail them out. WE should be the bailout, not some bloated bureaucratic debt increasing monster. Glenn highlighted two amazing towns recently that should be an example for towns all across America. First, Vernon NJ. Here's a town that was mired in the same old politics that just kept hurting the city worse year after year after year. That's when citizens decided to do something about it on their own. What they were able to accomplish from what started as one citizen - one - repeatedly taking action is nothing short of miraculous. WATCH

Last year Glenn went to Wilmington, Ohio to shine the spotlight on a remarkable town. The main business that held the town together packed up and left, leaving a vicious economic recession in its wake. It's been over a year since Glenn and thousands of Americans from all across the country descended on Wilmington -- what's happened in the year since? Glenn talked to several people from the town for an amazing update. WATCH
